WELLINGTON Kaleb McGary Jersey , Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand will be open to foreign visitors holding only an Australian visa for a 10-week window over the period of next year's Cricket World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the two countries.


The special trans-Tasman visa agreement would allow visitors from third countries to travel freely across the Tasman with just one visa from Jan. 26 to April 5, Immigration Minister Michael Woodhouse said Wednesday.


"Over this period Chris Lindstrom Jersey , New Zealand will grant a three-month visitor visa on arrival to those who already hold an acceptable Australian visa. This will make it easier for cricket fans to follow their team in both countries, and encourage those who may not have planned to visit New Zealand to do so," Woodhouse said in a statement.


The 2015 Cricket World Cup will take place from Feb. 14 to March 29 next year.

International visitors would still be required to meet the respective health, security and character requirements of both countries and each country would retain the right to refuse entry.
