Dana Holgorsen has agreed to a five-year extension that will keep him at West Virginia through 2021, the school announced Saturday. The contract is worth $18.6 million plus incentives. Holgorsens 2017 salary, which at $2.8 million was the third-lowest in the Big 12, rises to $3.5 million plus incentives.I said back in the spring that Coach Holgorsen and I were focused on nothing but a successful 2016 football season, and I think weve proven that, athletic director Shane Lyons said. Now that the regular season has come to a close, the time is right to finalize a new contract for Dana and keep our program going in a positive direction. In his sixth year at West Virginia, Holgorsen is 46-30. The No. 16-ranked Mountaineers (10-2) came away with the 24-21 victory against Baylor on Saturday. As the Big 12s third-place team, the Mountaineers are expected to receive a berth to the Russell Athletic Bowl against an ACC team, most likely Miami. WVU has gone to bowl games in five of Holgorsens six seasons in Morgantown.I am proud of our team and what we have accomplished this year by being only the ninth squad in school history to win 10 games in a season, Holgorsen said. Going forward, my focus is squarely on recruiting and the upcoming bowl game. I strongly believe that our football program is in position to be successful for a very long time.ESPNs Brett McMurphy contributed to this report. Cheap Custom Senators Jersey .
